Richard Mille RM 63-02 Automatic Winding "Worldtimer"

The Richard Mille RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer is the brand's travel watch, and it does something more ambitious than most dual-time pieces: it reads all 24 international time zones at once. An inner ring names 24 cities, and turning the bezel, which is geared directly to the movement, lets you set and read time anywhere in the world at a glance. It is Richard Mille's world-timer complication built into a self-winding movement, made for people who actually cross time zones.

The case is a departure for the brand: 47mm and round, rather than the tonneau shape Richard Mille is known for, and built from close to 200 parts with the brushed, polished and satin finishes that define the house. The dial is skeletonised, so the mechanism and the world-timer gearing are visible at work through sapphire crystals front and back, with a function selector that switches the crown between neutral, winding and hand-setting at the push of a button.

The automatic movement is wound by a rotor in 5N red gold and grade-5 titanium, and uses a fast-rotating barrel, one turn every five hours instead of the usual seven and a half, to keep the mainspring delivering power evenly, for around 50 hours of reserve at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
