It opens bright rather than sweet, with orange blossom, bergamot, and a touch of cinnamon and cardamom giving it a fresh, spiced lift before the vanilla arrives. That opening is what stops it from being just another sugary vanilla.

At its heart, Bourbon vanilla takes over, warmed by elemi, and the base is where it turns rich and creamy: praline and candied almond for the sweetness, guaiac wood for a hint of smoke, and ambroxan and musk for depth and a long, skin-close trail. The result is warm and cosy but still refined, and although it is marketed to men, it wears as comfortably unisex.
