LOUIS VUITTON SOFT TRUNK MONOGRAM ECLIPSE

The Louis Vuitton Soft Trunk in Taurillon Monogram is the black-on-black version, and the appeal is how quietly it carries the branding. Rather than printed canvas, it is made from black Taurillon cowhide leather with the Monogram embossed into the surface, so the pattern only reveals itself as the light moves across it. The zipper, hardware and strap are all matte black to match, which keeps the whole bag tonal.

The shape comes from Louis Vuitton's trunks: a boxy body with reinforced corners, scaled down into what is essentially a modern messenger. It measures around 25 by 18 by 10 cm, opens along a zip to a textile-lined interior with a duo flat pocket, and takes a phone, cardholder, and the day's essentials. The strap is removable and adjustable, with a drop of roughly 48 to 55 cm, so it wears cross-body or comes off entirely to carry in the hand.
