Goyard Saïgon PM Bag Red

Sale price24,000.00 AED

Description

The Goyard Saïgon PM is the house's structured top-handle bag, and it wears Goyard's trunk-making heritage more openly than almost anything else it makes. The trapezoidal shape has crisp, distinct corners, often compared to a Hermès Sellier, and it is built around a hand-carved beechwood handle, with wood battens running down the front and metal trunk rivets, the same hardware Goyard has used on its trunks for generations. Goyard traces the model to a special order made for a French client living in Indochina in the 1930s.

This one is in red Goyardine, the house's coated chevron canvas, trimmed in Chevroches calfskin with contrast stitching and palladium hardware. A front flap closes with a leather tab, and inside it is cotton-lined with a slip pocket. At around 28 by 20 by 12 cm it holds the daily essentials without being bulky. A removable, adjustable leather strap threads through metal fixings on the handle, so it can be carried by hand, over the shoulder, or across the body.

Because the handle and battens are real wood, they reward a little care, best kept away from knocks, water and anything that might scratch or dull them. At Konesseur, every Goyard piece is authenticated before listing, and because the house sells through very few boutiques and produces in small numbers, its bags are difficult to source.
