Breguet Héritage Phase de Lune 8861 Ref. 8861BB/11/BB0 D000 - 25mm
Description
The Breguet Héritage Phase de Lune 8861BB is proof that a Breguet does not need a round case to be unmistakably a Breguet. It is built in the Héritage line's tonneau shape, a curved barrel case in 18k white gold, gently arched to follow the wrist, and finished with the coined, fluted edge that has run around Breguet cases since Abraham-Louis Breguet's own workshop. At 35 by 25mm it is a refined ladies' watch.
The dial is a piece of craft in itself: a mother-of-pearl centre hand-engraved on a rose engine, framed by a frosted-silver chapter ring with stylised Roman numerals and blued-steel Breguet hands. In the upper right sits the reason for the name, a retrograde moon phase, with a rose-gilt moon tracking its cycle across the aperture. The bezel is set with 140 diamonds in two rows, around 1.14 carats, so the whole watch reads as jewellery and timepiece at once.
Behind the dial is the self-winding Calibre 586L, with roughly 36 to 40 hours of power reserve, protected by a sapphire crystal, water resistant to 30 metres. At Konesseur, every watch is authenticated and inspected in Dubai before listing, and the UAE's 5% VAT keeps a piece at this level below European retail.
