The Breguet Classique Phase de Lune 8788, reference 8788BR/12/986/DD00, is a refined moonphase watch in 18K rose gold. Breguet is the house that gave watchmaking many of its foundations, and this piece shows why: a 36mm coin-edged case, a bezel and lugs set with 96 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling around 0.72 carats, and the brand's unmistakable blued "Breguet" hands over a beautifully worked dial.

The dial is the heart of it, a silvered 18K gold face with a hand-engraved guilloché centre, black Roman numerals, and two complications: the moonphase set into an aperture below 12 o'clock, and a power-reserve indicator in the lower right. It is driven by the self-winding Caliber 591DRL, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour with around 38 hours of power reserve, visible through the sapphire caseback, on an alligator strap with a rose gold deployant clasp, water resistant to 30 metres.

This is a piece where the finishing is the point, the guilloché, the blued hands, and the diamond setting are all done to Breguet's traditional standard.
